We did both from here and explored beyond the city as well.
The staff were helpful. The laundry room was great. Showers were hot and the site had water AND electrical for around $20. a night depending on how many nights you stay. It’s cheaper for more nights.
Obviously, we would not tent camp here in the warm season! Bugs were okay in December. The owls were vocal every night and plentiful. Armadillos scurried through the vegetation at night and coons crawling all over our truck! Lol. This is a great park!
