Beaver Bend state park was always a special place in our hearts for our family where my kids caught their first trouts. However, the trout fishing has been unbelievable in a bad way. I loved the way they preserved the area between the bridges for mostly fly fisherman as far as I remembered. However, we saw trash/ candy wrapper flowing down in the river, folks using spin rods with spoons/ any barbs hooks, but the most unbelievable thing was an inflatable float (strictly prohibited) coming down the river where people were fly fishing.
We Still love the hiking trails and wild lives. The Newly built cabins were awesome. But We need more monitoring in term of fishing to preserve such beautiful fishing/ camping spot in OK.
