Made reservations for Buffalo Bill SP Lakeshore campground online for early May. Reservation system was easy and staff on site were friendly. The campground is just outside of Cody toward Yellowstone along a the Shoshone River valley and mountain so the park was easy to find and the view was amazing. The campground is clean and level but spare. There’s hardly any trees, lots of grass (for walking around on?), so there’s not much in the way of shade or windbreak or privacy. Though the weather was sunny, it was very windy which made it bitter cold. The river was quite fast and high so no fishing. We had our truck and 24 ft trailer and got a spot with hook ups that was pull through which was convenient. Each spot had a picnic table/bench and grill. Most of the park was empty. We wound up leaving due to the cold and found a campsite in the woods closer to Yellowstone that didn’t have the harsh wind or harsh sun. Since we had paid though, they did let us come back to use the dump station during our reserved days.
