I hiked this trail on the way to Oyster Dome, and we intended to pop by the lakes, BUT there was so much growth, the lakes looked more like a marsh. Aaaaand there were a lot of bugs.
I went in August and it’s been a hot summer, so maybe this was a one-off, but we did not find beautiful lakes. Just mud, bugs and marsh. 😆🤷🏼♀️
That being said, trail itself is awesome!!! Plenty of incline, switch backs, beautiful scenery and gorgeous overlooks!! We ended up at oyster dome. Stunning. Use bug spray and bring water and a snack. It’s a workout!
