TRACEY MILLINGS

5/5

We drive here every year, and the scenery never gets old! It's voted one of the top 5 places to visit for change of leaves in the US. I highly recommend going during the week if you can, to avoid the major traffic on the weekend. If you must go on weekend, plan to get there when the park opens. This is your best chance to get into the park early enough to enjoy a full day there. Weekdays allow you to take your time with very little traffic. Best overlook spots start at Front Royal entrance. Cost to enter is per vehicle and not per person and you can re-enter up to 7 days on the receipt without having to pay again! So keep track of your receipt! Bring your lunch and a blanket for a great picnic. They also have plenty of picnic tables at certain rest stops. You can also purchase food at certain locations along the drive. Great outing for the family of all ages, especially those with limited mobility (since most of your time spent will be in the car and at overlooks). Wonderful hiking spot (part of the Appalachian trail.
