When it was Cherrystone, it was great. Now that it is Sun Outdoors, it is not so great. Website says $30 for early check-in but if you get here early, you have to pay the full daily price for the night before or wait until 2pm. When asked about the $30, they said they don't follow the website. All they care about is getting your dollar. They nickel and dime you for everything. This is a great location. It is just too bad it has lost its charm. This is the last time our large group will come here.
*A phone call was made prior to arrival. The front desk stated that there are no early check-ins and that the daily rate would apply. This was my son's booking as I was already there. I went to the office with the website ready to show wht their site states. They said they do not participate in what their website says.
Scarystone used to be amazing and packed. Then, the pricing changed. There were at least half or more of the RV sites that were not occupied. 3 years ago, there were zero sites available. Last year, there were quite a few open spots. This year, nearly everything was vacant other than the 50 amp sites and cabins.
Again, the location is amazing. Great sunsets. Especially from site 711.
