We had our 50th wedding anniversary celebration at the Blue Door Greenhouse event venue. If you’re looking for a secluded venue surrounded by nature, this is the ideal place. Full of trees, a beautiful pond, and open pasture, it’s peaceful and serene. The sunset views are beautiful outside, and the evening light inside the greenhouse is lovely, even before the cafe lights come on and make the building glow. We had drinks and hors d’oeuvres outside in the shady courtyard and around the fire pit and took in the scenery. Our guests enjoyed strolling along the boardwalk next to the pond. We moved the party inside for our buffet dinner, but kept all the doors open so the rest of the evening had an indoor/outdoor feel. The venue made it easy for our caterers to get in and set up in no time and without interrupting the party. We also appreciated that the venue includes tables and chairs. The standard guest and display tables provided are wood not plastic, so there’s no need for table linens unless you want them. The provided chairs are sturdy and compliment the tables nicely, all of which helped make decorating the space easier. Decorating for an event like this isn’t a particular strength of mine so I appreciated that the event coordinator suggested ideas for how best to arrange the space and provided access to the venue’s warehouse full of decor items that are available to use free of charge, to supplement our decor. The result was beautiful and just the look I wanted. The only concern I had was that our guests might have trouble finding the place, due to the remote location. But it turned no one had any problems at all; the venue provided clear and specific directions that we included in our invitations, and not a single guest had any problems finding us. I think the venue would be a great location for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or any large gathering.
