Great day trip, we went to scout out taking our 26 ft travel Trailer..Note, we won't be taking the trailer..It is a hard drive(but worth it) go early, and bring everything you need, no services..The camp grounds are clean and layout is convenient. June first, Tucson is suffering extreme heat, and we were basking in the sun at 68 degrees. Road was passable in any vehicle, but caution is the key word. A lot of dirt road, at least a 100 switch backs.
But a journey to remember, get out and enjoy AZ.
