This is the kind place that every child, tween, and teenager should visit regularly. In our modern world with our modern digital lives, we still need sunshine and physical activity. I didn't hear any loud music or foul language. There were no vagabonds, junkies or dealers skulking about. There was no trash & litter. But did you know what I did see?

I seen grandparents with 2 young girls on the jungle gym and 2 teenage boys (about 15/16 yrs) very determinedly practicing a kick flip. I seen adults at neighboring business keeping a close eye on me. I'm not offend at all by this because I'm a stranger to these local people.

There are see-saws, swings with chains, an outdoor covered pavilion, a children's trail with corresponding story post, a rock garden, a tennis court and so much more.

There is nothing overly complicated or technical or even modern about Pelham Park. And that's the most beautiful part of it. The simplicity of nature and the everlasting energy of youth to create and mold the souls of the next generation.
