From jct I-29 (Exit 47) & Hwy-46: Go 1/2 mi E on Hwy-46, then 1/2 mi S on 13th St.
We stayed here for 2.5 weeks while switching our titles and drivers license to SD residents. They were so nice! We had to delay our arrival one day due to my husband back injury, and they were so great and understanding! We stayed in campsite 10. It was so nice. Lots of tree coverage and very quiet. We loved how quiet the campground was. The ladies in the office were so great and very nice. We were actually sad to leave, as we would have liked to have stayed longer. But had to move to our next destination. Highly recommended Windmill campground!
The campsite (RV) spaces were very close together. There were a lot of people that seemed to be living here, so the whole campsite felt cluttered and not very clean. With the spaces so close together, there was no room to walk our dogs.
Great place to stay. Big trees, dependable utilities, nice sites, and the staff is outstanding. Conveniently located half way between Sioux City and Sioux Falls.
We made our reservations 6 months in advance only to pull in and find our reserved spot had been given away. After a phone call to the after hours management we were told that he gave our spot away because he mistakenly thought we canceled. (We did not.) We were then directed to the only remaining spot that didn’t even fit our camper and was very uneven and soft that looked like it was a drainage ditch. (see pictures)
I had a reservation here for our return trip but promptly canceled and found a different campground. I would not recommend this campground and will not ever plan on staying here again.
