Great place to fish for bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass and channel catfish. There are also many off the path campsites that look wonderful. I'm not sure how you pay for camping. I haven't been able to find the payment envelopes. The bathrooms could use some regular cleaning. Overall this is a great lake!
Great place to camp at no cost & catfishing is exellent as it's a catch & release lake for them.
Camping is free. This was quite the surprise for me. Gorgeous lake. This is a WMA which stands for Wildlife Management Area. There are several of these surrounding the Lincoln area. They are also free. No state park sticker needed and free camping. For families on a budget that cannot afford Nebraska's outrages fees in parks to enjoy family time.... this is a great option. They don't really want to publicize this, Nebraska Game and parks, that is because they want that 20 bucks a night to pitch a tent in the state parks.
They also have a little magazine called the Atlas that has all the WMA information for whole state.
I really enjoyed this place.
Don't BE LAZY, PICK UP YOUR TRASH.
A great lake for camping, kayaking, and fishing! Small and off the beaten path. Unfortunately people are slobs and leave their garbage (broken glass & nails) everywhere at the camp sites and people let their dogs roam and harass other campers (even though they are supposed to be on leashes). As usual it's other campers that ruin great camping experiences. Besides that this lake is terrific!
Wonderful camping spot!! My Son & Daughter and myself were there this past weekend and truly enjoyed the cleanliness of campground and bathroom. Unfortunately my Son did not catch any fish, however we asked several people walking back to their cars & they did. Would be GREAT if others respected the land! Lots of garbage along banks. But the trails are endless!! I'm leaving the area permanently, but my Son is staying & says he'll go back next year. Thank you to the NRD for all of the work you do!!
