The perfect place for a quiet get-a-way on a beautiful lake. The cabins are nicely equiped and wonderfully clean. Scott and Jenn are kind, caring, helpful and so accomodating. Wilderness Bay Resort and the town of Park Rapids are everything you think you need and so much more.

Great location - right on the water, lots to do : watching sunset, roasting marshmallows, great beach set up, paddle boards, kayaks. Plus pickle ball court, and fun areas on property. If you’re looking for a relaxing, enjoyable family trip with nice clean comfortable cabins, this is your place. If you’re looking to go clubbing and partying, this is not.

We have stayed at wilderness bay resort multiple times in the cabins and house. Lovely resort, very reminiscent of old Minnesota. Great for families with plenty of activities for the kids. Canoes, paddle boards, kayaks, water bikes, swim slides, trampoline and swimming platform are free to use. Itasca park is close for a quick hike or bike ride. Our family always sees interesting wildlife in the area, from bears to bobcats, to porcupines and pileated woodpeckers. This resort is a gem and we always look forward to our visits!

What initially drew me to Wilderness Bay Resort was its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful surroundings near Itasca State Park and the Heartland Trail.

Upon arrival with my wife, we were greeted by cozy cabins that radiated rustic charm while providing a comfortable atmosphere. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the mesmerizing view of the glass-like water, where it was impossible to distinguish where the trees ended and the water began. The reflection was so perfect that it created a seamless blend of nature and tranquility.

The quietness at Wilderness Bay Resort was not just noticeable but appreciated, as we often felt we had to whisper. This added to the sense of peaceful seclusion, making it a nice escape for us.

The host, who was exceptionally kind and welcoming, added a personal touch to our stay. It's a place where you can instantly unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy quality time together while being captivated by the seamless union of trees and water. Wilderness Bay Resort is the perfect choice for a tranquil getaway, conveniently located near Itasca State Park and the Heartland Trail, adding to its appeal.

My husband and I have visited Wilderness Bay Resort twice this year (and are already planning our next trip!) WBR was the perfect little oasis for our trip up north. We were really amazed at the amount of activities that guests could utilize there. We took advantage of the pickle-ball court, paddle boards, pontoon and the hydro-bikes. We love the quietness of the bay and how close we were to Itasca State Park (15min away), and downtown Park Rapids.

The cabins we stayed in were so cozy and very clean. You definitely experience a sense of community during your stay. The owners treat you like family from the second you get there and the other guests were so kind and respectful. You can tell they truly want you to have a wonderful experience. From guest artwork in the office to the guestbooks in the cabins, you can tell that we are not the only ones who love it there.
