Battle Ground Lake State Park is a forested camping park in the Cascade Mountain foothills; its proximity to Vancouver and Portland and its cool green lake make it a great escape from the bustle of city and suburbs.
Children play in the shallow swim area under the watchful eyes of their picnicking parents, anglers float on the lake, hikers and campers take quiet strolls in the woods. On sunny weekends, laughter fills the playground, lakefront and kitchen areas. Whether you've come for a rest or a family play day, time spent at Battle Ground Lake will leave you refreshed and ready to tackle your life once again.
PARK FEATURES
The 280-acre park offers hiking, biking, horse trails and a primitive equestrian camping area. The spring-fed lake is attractive to swimmers and paddlers and is stocked with trout, making it a favorite of anglers.
The park has 35 standard campsites, six partial-hookups sites, 15 primitive sites that require campers to hike up to half a mile from the parking lot, two primitive equestrian sites, four cabins, one RV dump station, two restrooms and four showers. Maximum site length is 35 feet (may have limited availability).
This place is absolutely stunning... it's not a huge lake but what it lacks in size it more than makes up in beauty...just a skip and a hop from the parking area you arrive at the lake plenty of shade and tables where you and your family and friends can gather and enjoy what this place has to offer... with a food stand with plenty of things on the menu you won't go hungry... plenty of photo opportunities as well as hiking swimming or simply just relaxing.. I really enjoy the time I had there... though short on time due to being our last day in Washington... we left the area wishing we had more time to explore... we will be back!! But until then always go by the leave no trace policy and leave it better than you found it!!
Gorgeous Lake surrounded by a beautiful forest. You can take the approximately 1 mile hike right around the lake or a little longer one further up that still circles the lake, then spend the rest of the day lazily floating in an innertube on the water.
This place is beautiful. If you don’t mind the cold, I would highly recommend going in the winter when it’s not raining. We were the only people in the park when we went.
Small lake with a decently groomed trail around the lake. Nice place to go for a short walk if you are in the area. I think it's under 3 miles to go around the lake, but I took as many side trails as I could & looped back to get closer to 5 miles of walking in.
Camping areas looked clean & maintained.
There was some trash here & there.
Seemed to be a decent handful of people hanging out for a Monday Afternoon. Most of them were fishing.
