Located 72 miles east of Roseburg on Highway 138, turn north onto Road 2610, the Bird's Point Road. Proceed 4 miles and turn right at the Poole Creek Campground sign. The campground is located on the west shore of Lemolo Lake.
This campground has some nice aspects, and some of the lake side spots are probably worth a stay. However, the bathrooms make this place almost uninhabitable. They are outhouses that are NOT clean in the slightest. Feces smeared on the sides and lid of toilets. Urine on the floor. Flies buzzing around. Smells so bad I gagged. I don’t see how this is acceptable. I would never stay here again, just for the bathroom issues alone. I’ll spend more money to have the use of more civilized restroom facilities. Other notes: many sites have very uneven ground so sleeping in a tent is hard. The campsites are extremely dusty/dirty (rather than having gravel as some campgrounds do). There’s no lighting anywhere on the paths and not much signage. Can’t really recommend, unless you have a large comfortable trailer as many people seemed to have when I was there. Not great for tent camping.
This campground is located in a great area. There is lemolo falls right down the road, which was beautiful. It's about 30 minutes from crater lake. It's about 30 minutes from toketee falls and the hot springs. Diamond lake is in the area as well as multiple different hikes. The campground itself was nice with picnic tables and fire rings. And has a great view of lemolo lake.
