Left for half a day to go into Avalon, and found that our campsite was raided. Some people stole our firewood and went into our tent. If anyone decided to try the tent cabins, just know they’re pretty old and are infested with spiders at night. You’re better off bringing your own tent. Also, they have a metal storage bin that’s suppose to keep animals out, but the storage bin has a hole and isn’t insect proof so keep that in mind when storing. The faculties here aren’t taken care of, however the views are great. Make sure to pack accordingly.

Nestled on Catalina Island, just 25 miles off the Southern California coast, Two Harbors Campground is a breathtaking gem in a remote part of the island.

While some might question the effort of lugging gear for camping, the experience is utterly captivating and addicting.

The pristine, crystal-clear waters teeming with sea life offer an enchanting backdrop. The campground's general store proves a lifesaver with its comprehensive offerings, and the accompanying restaurant and rentable palapas provide a touch of comfort in this otherwise remote setting.

Amid the backdrop of numerous hiking and biking trails, opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and pure relaxation abound. Despite the sensation of being far from home, the reality is that civilization is just a short, one-hour boat ride away.

The island's temperate SoCal climate, tempered by a gentle ocean breeze, and reliable cell reception for sharing envy-inducing selfies with friends and family, complete the modern camping experience.

For packing, a backpack and a small ice chest can suffice for a weekend escapade, while families might consider a rolling bag for a more extended stay.

Some things were not open as we were told by phone before our trip. Breakfast place, and we were told the kayaks would be open on Monday. The restaurant was very good.

Gorgeous location in the world, makes it worth the trek across the ocean.

As a first time visitor the instructions provided on the website and email after booking were a bit vague and we did not have any communications with the rangers.

The staff at the visitor center was great though with providing information when asked and executing requests.

It would of been helpful get the logistics of the check in process as well as the gear haul services.

The tent cabins with the cots provided were ok however there was a decent spider population in ours that I had to take care of to get the family comfortable.

The town has a lot of great amenities but be prepared for a .75 mile hike down a hill to town and up a hill back to the campgrounds along with prices 3-5x normal markets.

(Example a gallon of spring water $4.50)

Overall a great camping trip with the family!

What a great place! It is much more laid back than the busling Avalon. Two Harbors has one of everything you may need. Snorkeling is awesome just a long the western edge of the bay in the kelp. The restaurant is quite good for dinner. The lunch cafe is meh, but the bar can save that experience. We really enjoyed renting two lounge chairs on the beach for $45. Wait staff bring you whatever you want, they provide towels, nice lounge chairs and an umbrella, plus lunch and drinks at additional cost. Lots of mooring balls here, not sure I'd want to be here on a weekend, but the weekdays are blissful. Also they have deals on mooring, 7 nights for price of six in the high season, or 7 nights for the price of 2 in the off season (Nov. 1st) and you can switch to other locations on the island if there is a ball open, except at Avalon
