Situated on Wisconsin’s eastern peninsula, just an hour’s drive northeast of Green Bay, Tranquil Timbers RV Resort is an ideal destination for relaxing on Sturgeon Bay and exploring Door County’s local attractions. Right next door, Potawatomi State Park offers several miles of hiking and biking trails, paddling and fishing on Sturgeon Bay, and several picnic areas and playgrounds. Just a few minutes drive away, Gardner Swamp Wildlife Area is a lowland forest and marsh preserve that offers good bird and wildlife watching. There are also several golf courses in the area, as well as fishing in Green Bay for walleye, northern pike, bass and trout. For a taste of the local flavor and culture, the nearby communities offer a variety of shops, art galleries, eateries, and annual festivals worth checking out, and several of the peninsula’s 10 lighthouses are open for touring. For making yourself at home at Tranquil Timbers, the resort offers more than 250 RV sites with full hookups. Campers can choose from open and sunny sites, or wooded and shady sites, with back-in or pull-through driveways. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, and tents are permitted. Campground amenities include restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, and a camp store. A dump station is located onsite. The resort also offers a selection of yurts and camping cabins. For recreating without driving anywhere, the resort features a playground, heated swimming pool, game room, mini golf course, horseshoe and volleyball courts, and a snack bar. Dogs are permitted, but must remain leashed. Seasonal campsite rates range from $46–$71/night, plus daily $4 resort fee; yurts and cabins range from $91–$220/night, plus fees.
If you have dogs and like to relax with them outside in a pen, this is not your place.
The park is OK but very disappointed they won't let us use our temporary fencing for the dogs. Will have to keep them indoors for almost 5 days. They said it's in the rule book.... which is fine.. until I look across the way and see this neighbor. Just seems pretty silly if it's about astethics...it shouldn't matter if you live here or not. None of this was laid out on the website or mentioned prior to arriving. Also the only resort we've been to that disallows this.
We were planning more time here but this is a deal breaker
Update: our trip concluded and we still have stains from the highly sulfuric well water they have at the sites. It smells like rotten eggs and was quite unpleasant, leaving stains in my toilet and shower.. not to mention it always looks like someone just peed because it's is soo yellow
I would like to thank Julie for her personal attention when a death in the family caused us to have to cancel.
We had stayed at Tranquil Timbers in the past, and decided to stay again while visiting friends in Sturgeon Bay.
We will certainly be back.
One of our favorite camp sites. We rented a cabin to have AC for our dogs, it was very clean and super easy access to the bathrooms which are by far the cleanest restrooms I've ever used in a campsite. We used the pool which was fun, and it looks like there's a lot of activities on the site to keep kids busy (playground, mini golf that they were actively repairing, tennis courts I think). Employees were very friendly and helpful with giving tips on where to visit while there. Loved it, will be sure to visit again.
Wonderful weekend! Very nice cabin. Definitely worth the money!!! Centrally located to state parks. Very clean too! Nice shower houses. Will come back for sure!
