Quiet. Peaceful. Private.
Get off the highway and avoid the parking lots cleverly disguised as RV parks, campgrounds and resorts. We offer 50 water and electric sites and 30 tent sites, all of which are along the Tolsona Creek. Come fish in our creek or just relax for a few days. Either way, you will not find a better place to camp in Alaska.
We had a blast. A lot of construction and rules but we completely understand. The groundskeeper is awesome and very friendly. The bathroom was extremely clean and perfect for me. I'm very picky and we used the facility and it was clean every time. Just remember to close the door and not let the mosquito 🦟 in. They are vicious.
This family oriented business is some of the hardest working, most sincere patriotic individuals. They are recovering from an once in a lifetime flooding event. Their hard work and dedication shows. As they continue to provide stellar customer service. All the while working endless hours recovering from a catastrophic flood. These are great people
Great location, great campground and even better hosts/owners! We spent 2 nights there at the end of May and I wish we would have been able to stay longer. I would definitely recommend and would go back. All the campsites are on the scenic river. Some are more private than others, but they definitely had all the amenities. The campground sits way back from the road. Unfortunately, we didn't get to explore all it had to offer, but we enjoyed our time there, nonetheless. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Potable water, dump station available with easy access. They even have a little store and laundry on site. On the end of the second day we had a problem with our rental RV and the owners were quick to come see if they could help and recommended some solid solutions. We had to wait for the rental company to come out and work on the RV so we had to be late checking out. They were more than accommodating and definitely turned the unfortunate situation into a much better one. I was able to relax knowing we were safe and not pressured. If you are looking for a well situated, well appointed campground with great views and amazing owners, I would recommend you check out Tolsona Wilderness Campground. Looking forward to our next adventure in AK and they will be on our list for sure!
Awesome place to start your roundtrip through Alaska coming from Anchorage. I don't get the negative reviews on here at all. Showers and toilets might be a little older but are clean and in good condition.
Staff was great. Tubing down the river is fun. Very kid/family oriented campground. There’s a great little playground and different themed events on the weekends. We went with 6 adults and 4 kids under 6 years old and everyone had an awesome time.
Are there mosquitoes?..yes, welcome to interior Alaska
Our site was supposed to have power and didn’t but again, welcome to interior Alaska, we brought a Honda 2000 generator with extra gas
Bathroom facilities?..never used as we brought a camper
