Trails to hike, mountain biking and road biking. Indian Lake is known as the whitewater rafting capitol of New York with abundant spring rafting and limited summer rafting. Open mid-May thru mid-October.
It's a trailer park, not a campground and not an RV Park, but a TRAILER PARK! We booked a week here and upon arrival, check-in, and seeing our site, we forfeited our deposit and left. We didn't want to spend our week-long vacation looking at rundown campers in a tight campground. The owner was polite enough upon check-in, but we should've known something was up when it was available on short notice and they didn't take credit cards. If you need one night for water and sewer, it would be fine. Otherwise, leave it for the long-term regular occupants and move on.
Wonderful place with great camp hosts. George was fantastic and helpful. Full hookups were very convenient and the campsite was well kept. I was originally worried that metered electric may make total cost of our stay on the high end but overall was very reasonable in the end even with using AC, electric water heater and electric refrigerator the entire weekend. I would highly recommend this campground to others.
Beautiful campground, super nice people!
It IS cash or check so be prepared. We had to leave early in the morning when we went home, so we had George estimate what our electric may be and left him enough cash to cover it since he wouldn't be opening the office until 8A.
Each site is wooded with enough space and gorgeous. All sites are pull-throughs which makes it so much easier! Bathrooms are really nice. The campground is close to town but you can't hear any car traffic at night.
This is in response to Jason’s review…… I just have to completely disagree with your opinion. Apparently, Thornbush was not what you were looking for, but please be honest…… it is not a “trailer park”!!!!! We all have campers that are all less than 10 years old. No one has porches or decks built onto their campers or sheds. And since there is none of those things, there are no dilapidated properties! Thornbush only has 46 sites and we are not cramped at all…. not like other campgrounds. If you think we are cramped, check out Tall Pines near Sydney NY!
Yes there is not a pool, a playground or even an arcade room. But that is the beauty of this park!!! It is clean, quiet and peaceful!!!!! That is what drew us to this campground for the last 7 years. And we drive a long way to be at this gorgeous place! Really sorry you didn’t give it an honest try….. actually your loss!!!!!
