About Campground

We have professionally built mountain bike trails that sweep through the forest. We are just minutes from the Hagood Mill Historical Site housing ancient native American petroglyphs and a host of other Appalachia folk history.

Campers have plenty of options 10 minutes to downtown Pickens, SC. The Ale House or the Burning Brick is great nighttime entertainment and there are plenty of local artisans who run shops on Pickens Main St.

The Market At The Mill is also close by and is a huge factory converted into an indoor flea market with several hundred vendors under one roof providing just about anything the eye can imagine for sale.

My stay here was splendid. I stayed here as part of the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts program and everything was top notch. I received a complementary room upgrade as part of the program as well as free breakfast and a $100 property credit. The room was spacious and had a great view. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Everything was on par with a 5 star resort. I will be returning.

Phenomenal reflexology session at the spa with Eric. I highly recommend him. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous and the surrounding area is beautiful. Wonderful, hiking trails, walks on the beach, and golf courses.

My wife and I vacation at The Sanctuary every December. The location, service and amenities are unsurpassed in our experience. A beautiful beachfront and family friendly pool. Two attractive restaurants with delicious food appropriate to the location. Room service was prompt and gracious. The common areas are beautifully appointed, especially at Christmas. Highly recommended to celebrate a special occasion.

This property is one of the finest hotels you will ever visit. During a week long stay I would expect to find something that was not quite perfect. Nope. The five star dining was my favorite. I tried multiple dishes during my stay and every one was over the top. The service was excellent. The ocean view rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The meeting space had everything we needed for our group, and it was obvious that management knows how to coordinate all aspects of a large luxury property to make certain their guests have every need provided for in advance. Please send me money so I can just live here.

BEST hotel experience of our life. The hotel is beautiful. Very nice and super clean. EXCELLENT service, every employee is kind and helpful. My boyfriend at the time surprised me with a proposal; The Sanctuary helped make our celebration magical. They went above and beyond in their generosity. We are so grateful to the Sanctuary for giving us such a wonderful, memorable experience.
