About Campground

Come hitch your rig up at the Hitchin’ Post RV Park and Cabins then kick up your heels for some West Texas hospitality. Stay for a day or two… or a while. We have full hook-ups at all of our Texas sized RV sites, 50 and 30 amp electricity and Free Wifi.

Want to get away, but don’t have an RV or don’t want to bring it this time, no worries, we have 4 fully furnished cabins. And you can sit out on the large porch and watch the stars all night if you want to.

If camping in a tent is more your style, we have just the spot, or 10 to be exact. And we even throw in the added convenience of a nightlight and a set of outlets at each tent site, to charge your cell phone (so you don’t have to go completely off the grid on your camp out).

Directions

Located 13.3 miles from Marshall and 9.5 miles from Longview. From I-20 take Exit 604 and go north on FM 450 approximately 1/4 mile. Pass the Valero Gas Station, and the next drive way on the left is the park's entrance.

We stayed in our campers. The campground is clean, well taken care of, and quiet which I was not expecting since it is right off the highway. Owners are very nice and thoughtful. Needed to stay a little past check out time and they didn't even hesitate. Super nice. My only issue was our site was literally flooded. To get out of our camper, we had to step into a board, get on top of the picnic table and then jump in front of the camper to reach dry land. It was an experience. Even with that, we would definitely stay here again.

Have never experienced such true kindness. My husband (age 84) & I were taken to local emergency room with Covid. ER MD recommended Hitchin Post as we were not able to continue drive. Tracy the Manager texted us after hours where we could stay and the next morning sent 2 wonderful guys to help us with hookups. She ten brought us several bags of groceries to help us with our illness. She is truly an Angel and saved us in so many ways. She would not let us pay her. Where do you find kindness like this and there are no words for thanks that are enough!

Awesome. Simply amazing...we've been in a cabin for o er a month. And the whole place is beyond my expectations for an RV PARK Management is exceptional, lots of over tge road workers here so it's always quiet. Close to town with lots of food choices. This place is definitely top knotch if your looking for a pla e to crash short or longterm.

I would recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. When we got there we were never given a set of park rules or rental agreement... and the manager has zero respect for Texas tenant rights. The manager was drunk majority of the time we saw her or tried to talk to her for anything. She refuses to answer her phone... thank god we never had an emergency that we really needed to get ahold of anybody. We decided to stay there as it was advertised with multiple amenities such as wifi, dog park, laundry, and firepits. The wifi didn't work, the dog park is sad at best, the laundry was closed, and the firepits are just rusty car rims thrown on the ground. The manager targeted us and treated my husband and I like trash in response to me not dealing with her screaming at me over the phone while I was at work. Not only did she treat us like trash but she damaged our camper. She beat on our front door so hard that the deadbolt was bent and jammed. I reached out to the regional manager of the park about the situation and nothing was done to help us out although I do appreciate that she did genuinely seem sorry that the manager put us through that. The mail is delivered into a crate at the front of the property despite there being multiple small buildings that could be used as a mail delivery spot. Overall this is the worst trailer park I have experienced and we have stayed at multiple all over the country.

After being in this RV Park for the past Year it is finally time to move to the next. Traci has been a GREAT park manager, she has done so great helping out when problems have arised such as people like Katie Jo Kendrick ~ who like to let their dogs off leash & run after people and try to attack them... and then decide to leave a nasty review full of lies. Thankfully Traci was vigilant & asked these people to leave who denied to follow the park rules that you do receive when checking into the park! As all other parks we have ever stayed at there is a leash policy for a reason, this park happens to have a dog park for the dogs to safely run, but not everyone things its important to utilize! Traci has taken great care of us the past year from keeping propane tanks full, to helping us with issues when it comes to

the washers & dryers, or even if we had water pressure issues. She keeps her door open all day for people to come speak with her. I have never had an issue trying to get ahold of her when necessary! She is always very quick to answer any questions especially with billing or problems arising with other park residents. We are very sad to be leaving her & this awesome park but are thankful to have had such a great experience with Traci! Hopefully the next rv park host will be just as delightful!😊
