All maintenance has ceased years ago, showers and bathrooms removed. 2/3 of the camping areas closed off. Otherwise, a beautiful spot.
Decent boat launch, but I go there to wade fish around the cypress trees in the lake. I catch a fair amount of multiple species!
Camped there before the forest service took over. No water, no restrooms or porta potties, and the roads were TERRIBLE! Made us wonder what we were paying for when the WMA had campsites right down the road during hunting season at no cost. The only positive was access to the lake shore. Now that the USFS has the site we'll do a drive through in the fall of 2020 and see if anything has improved.
Unkept, brokendown benches at most tables.
Take a rake and broom.
Rangers are a pain.
I like going here because it's secluded and peaceful. The park has be neglected. Once there were electric hookup and water. No more. There are less than 10 campsites, and they could be littered with beer cans and trash unless the county has sent a crew to clean. If a picnic table is intact, count yourself lucky.
