Spiritworks Farm and Retreat is over the top in Integrity, Wisdom and Knowledge of the plant kingdom and offering the chance for humanity to come into relationship with its power and grace. Owner, Carolyn "Lindy" Dewey, holds the space deeply for this spiritual, physical and transpersonal experiece. She also loves to have fun. Go for it.

Spirit Works Farm is a beautiful place filled with love and laughter. Nothing better than snuggling up at the retreat center surrounded by windows and warmth and drinking Lindy's organically home grown herbal tea. A must stop for anyone venturing to Glacier National Park. They have fresh honey, herbs, tinctures to heal and replenish. Clean and affordable.

I've stayed at SpiritWorks several times since 2019 and would stay again in a heartbeat. Here's more about my experience.

In 2019 I applied to Lindy Dewey's farm apprentice internship and stayed in the campground for five weeks in the summer. The internship was an incredible learning experience, Lindy and the farm staff were encouraging teachers and had me involved firsthand in every aspect of everyday farm life, from weeding, mulching and harvesting to cooking group meals together using freshly grown crops and more. We learned about the uses for each plant/herb and processed them for selling to the local community. I learned (through doing) about the tasks and routines it takes to run a farm, and how to collaborate with the weather and soil conditions. I found the experience and shared knowledge to be so valuable and gave me a new appreciation for working with the environment. I also found the community of folks (around a dozen who were working/staying on the farm that summer) to be incredibly collaborative and supportive. I always felt included and that my individual needs were heard and met by Lindy. She offers all of the farm staff and volunteers hot showers, a fridge and cooking area for our own food, and fresh shared healthy meals (with many organic ingredients, including fruit/veg/herbs grown on the farm) during work hours. And the buildings and design of the gardens are gorgeous, everything is aesthetically pleasing (flowers and fruit everywhere) and well maintained by Lindy and crew so it's a beautiful place to spend long summer days working outside.

In 2020 I stayed at Lindy's retreat center for a week in the winter and the accommodations that she built and maintains are so comfortable. There is parking right by the building (it was snowing a lot!), a heater in my room and the private bathroom, a full kitchen with large dining room and lots of oils/herbs/tea provided, wood fire hot tub, and laundry. Staying in Montana in the snow was dreamy and I was warm, relaxed and happy whenever I was indoors in the retreat center. There are plenty of local hikes accessible in the snow (with boots or snowshoes) within minutes to an hour of driving. Lindy was always easily available for questions about the retreat center.

I just returned home from a week's visit/work stay at SpiritWorks this summer, July 2023, where again I got to volunteer work time on the farm for Lindy, learn firsthand, and always felt comfortable and that my individual needs were being met by Lindy and the property. Note on cell service - I have Verizon and always have ample signal and internet connection on the farm and campground.

I am so grateful to Lindy's generosity, warmth and kindness in for creating and providing a space where folks including myself are welcome to work and play hard, and get dirty, and learn how to reflect and make improvements in our inner and outer worlds. I treasure the experiences I've had at SpiritWorks, working hard (lost weight/gained lots of muscle), receiving the encouragement to seek and live my truth, being invited to experiences that I felt were above and beyond the internship parameters (farmer's markets, making art, building fences, rafting, creating recipes, so much more), and meeting Lindy and all the wonderful people who come to her farm to work and stay.

SpiritWorks is also located in the Whitefish/Kalispell area about 10-15 minutes from Whitefish Lake and 45 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier National Park so I feel the farm and retreat center is a gem of its own in a mutually beneficial relationship with these surrounding local resources.

Come to SpiritWorks and you'll have a truly unique and special experience in the Whitefish/Kalispell area.
