About Campground

24 beautiful Acres of hardwood forest with sections of Old Growth Cedar trees, on 1700' of the majestic north branch of the Great Chazy River. Starting in April, through May, it is stocked with over 6000 Rainbow and Brown Trout, making it one of the best fishing Rivers in NYS. You park roadside, then walk down 1000' of maintained trails to the river where our sites are meticulously maintained. In keeping with our intent of privacy and solitude, we keep the number of sites to only 5, as we share this land with you, it's our Heaven on Earth. With over 3 miles of trails through the property and an assortment of different experiences in the landscape, it truly is a place to escape the hustle of our busy lives.

All of our sites include 1 firelog which provides approximately 3 hrs of fire. Each site also includes a firepit, Picnic table and primitive outhouse. Drinking water is available where you park.

We also have hobby farm animals to enjoy, which include a Thoroughbred horse, chickens, and goats. Wildlife abounds with a healthy community of Whitetail Deer, Ducks, butterflies, and birds.

Our "Someday Happens" Paradise is shared with you with love.

We loved staying at Sanctuary NYC Retreats. It is an oasis of calmness and beauty at a great price. Everything is clean and well maintained. So fantastic to have a full kitchen and balcony (though of course the outside noises in the busy neighbourhood of the East Village made the balcony not quite as peaceful as the indoors). The people who operate Sanctuary NYC Retreat are deeply committed to being the friendliest hosts possible. We totally recommend a stay at the Sanctuary NYC Retreats.

We had a very nice stay: comfortable apartment, nice location, very kind and responsive staff. Would visit again. Also, we appreciated the possibility to leave our luggage for half a day after check-out and to ask the staff to book us an airport transfer.

We need to note the a/c did not really work properly and was pretty noisy (so we avoided using it for the most part).

A peaceful place with good energy and friendly staff. In a well-connected neighborhood. There are plenty of stores and restaurants (Katz’s deli, Uncle Sam Pizza, Remedy Diner). It is really worth staying here while visiting NY.
