Beautiful weather makes these views all the more enjoyable. Road was muddy this time of year so make sure you have 4WD
The first 10 miles from Big Water was beautiful, the rest of the 5 hour journey was only sage brush and pinion pines, really shouldn't be a national park using Federal Funding.
GSE is definitely one of my favorite places I have traveled off-road. 4wd definitely required taking BLM330 all the way through. we came all the way from the north end and came down to Lake Powell. Smokey Mountain overlook was an amazing view to end up with after the few days of exploring the area.
I took the drive up to the overlook at night to capture the stars so I wasn't able to see much passed my camera lens but if you are interested in night photography, this is a wild ride and excellent vantage point. I hope to make it back during daylight hours.
This is a no joke road! DO NOT DRIVE SEDANS OR AWD VEHICLES UP THIS ROAD. Stay off it wet damp or if u see rain coming. This area will make 127 hrs look like afternoon tea to the unprepared. Outside of that some of the best views canyons and camping to be had here!!!
