After the initial steep climb, rest of the trail is easy. Awesome views all throughout.

There is a lot of up and down on this trail. If you want to do the loop at the end of Pakard Lake, I suggest you try finding the start of the loop going clockwise. Going counter-clockwise, the trail deteriorates after the second to last lake, with lots of downed trees. There are several lakes and small ponds. There is a burned area. You get better visibility of the surrounding mountains in this section. The start of the trail goes down so the end of the trail goes up.

Went to naturalist basin. Gorgeous hike, pretty busy trail until the turn off to naturalist. Get there early because parking fills up. Also weather changes quickly in the uintahs so be prepared for rain/lightning storms! Lots of exposed areas in naturalist basin that are above the tree line. Great hike though, a must-do.

Usually plenty of parking. Trail is not difficult but can be a gentle but long slope. It is easy to pass trail signs for turns--watch carefully. Enjoy! Rangers will leave a note on your vehicle if you failed to pay the use fee; I'm guessing this is a second chance before it becomes a fine.
