Mel was great. Gave us a mat and a trash can. Shared his rock collection with us and treated us like old friends. The park is small but had power, water and sewer. Situated in a neiborhood. We came at a time when the flys and grasshoppers we're almost overwhelming we stayed for three nights and enjoyed the charm of the town. Very good for the price. Would stay there again.

It is a no frills campground for sure but totally worth it. The owner is really nice and gave a place for trash as well as a small mat for our stairs. He gifted us 6 fresh eggs from his flock that were so delicious. It is easy access off the highway and full hookups for a low price. Close to a state park and again, a nice and easy location.

A nice overnight stop. Mel parked us and greeted us with a welcome mat a half dozen fresh eggs. And a nice surprise of a morning paper on our step.

We stopped here because of the reviews. I had to meet Mel! We barely had the truck in park and he had the welcome mat in place. To say Mel goes the extra mile, would be an understatement. Not only does he roll out the welcome mat, he helps you set up, gives you your own personal garbage can, half a dozen farm fresh eggs (produced by his very own ladies), an information packet about the area, a bumper sticker, a coupon for the store in town, and a newspaper delivered to your door in the morning. Honestly, I don't know what more he could do to welcome you. We paid $30 for a one night stay. There were other campers near us who said they had been coming to this campground every year for 9 years. Everyone in town was so friendly. I've never felt so welcomed by a town or campground.

With all that said, never judge a book by its cover. The road to get to the campground is gravel. If you're too fragile for gravel roads, and require everything to be shiny and perfect this is not the place for you. However, I would challenge you to open your mind and give it a try. We all know of people and places that are perfect on the outside but later learn that they're horrible on the inside. This place is a diamond in the rough! 😃

I want to still but if you are traveling and I know terry don't real show up if you read this and need a great look stop trust me safe town quite and you don't find these places hit the brakes and hit the exit by a steak at the local meat house and grill it up sit back
