Driving through with my mini camper van and saw signs for this place. Reviews look good so gave it a shot. Once you get there the roads in the campground can be rough but nothing too terrible. I picked a campsite away from everywhere and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. There was a picnic table and small lamp. Overall clean and open area. I can still hear cars from the road leading up to the campsite but did not hear from the main road. It wasn’t really clear on how to pay but one of the other reviewer said owner came back 8pm. So I waited until 8pm and no one came. I was wanting to head to bed so I just left the money on the hood of my car held down with a soda can. Money was gone in the AM. Would stay here again.

Phantastic location and Laura who dropped by to collect the money was very warm and welcoming.

Fellow female solo travelers be aware:

I had a weird encounter with two guys who took a walk across the campground. They came over and we chatted for a while. I realized they must have been drinking as both reeked of alcohol. The older one suddenly got touchy and tried to hug me. I told him no and he kind of seemed to understand that he had crossed a line although he didn’t exactly apologize. They left pretty much immediately. I stayed out of pure spite because I didn’t want them to take this beautiful place away from me. Probably not the smartest decision because I was the only camper the entire night and cell reception was spotty… They didn’t come back though.

I should have read the other Google ratings as the guys seem to be regular trouble makers. Also there was no toilet paper and both toilets were rather dirty. If you put all that together $25 seem like a ripoff.

We stay there for a night during memorial weekend. The scenery was amazing. We even had wild horses going past our campsite in the morning! Surprisingly, the Porta potty was very clean.

Unfortunately, the night we stayed, the locals were hanging out drinking beer next to it but they weren't bothering us. It seemed like it could be a regular hangout to drink fir the local young folks...something to consider. But like I said, they didn't bother us.

We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Wonderful place to camp! Close access to Monument Valley. The views from the camp are great and the price is right ($25/night). Laura and her daughter were very nice and informative about the local sights etc. There are no hook-ups or water, but they do have satellite toilets. The sites are big enough for a good size RV, most being pull-through. There are only 8 sites, 1st come.

No hook ups, but still my favorite campground on our two week trip around Utah! We rarely try for campgrounds with no pre-reserved sites, but I'm glad we did this time. The host was wonderful to chat with when she stopped by in the evening to collect the $25 fee. She taught us some things about Navajo culture and the land that we were visiting. We could have listened to her tell us stories all night! The location is perfect, between the Monument Valley tribal park and the Forrest Gump spot. The view from camp was beautiful! The road in the campground is a bumpy dirt road but nothing crazy. We were the first campers to arrive that day at 2:30 pm and the pull through site we picked was plenty big for our truck plus 30ft camper. Only one other camper was there by sunset so it was pretty quiet. A neighbor's dog came by our camp. It seemed friendly but didn't come close enough to pet, it was just looking for snacks and moved on when we didn't have anything to share.
