Hardy Lake has a 740 acre lake with great fishing and it allows water skiing. It has hiking trails, beach, picnic area, and 2 campgrounds. Hunting is allowed during normal hunting seasons which include deer and wild turkey hunting. Both campgrounds are open year round with electric available at each site in Shale Bluff Campground.
I have been going here since I was a kid in the 80's. The place hasn't changed much. The grass areas are always mowed, the beach was clean and nice. My kids loved the water and the play sets up on top the hill from the beach. They have built in grills near the picnic tables and by the beach. No need to waste space in your own vehicle bringing your grill. Out of 6 of us. I am the only one who ended up with a leach on my foot. I blame that on going into the deep and having my feet in the mud at the bottom. But out of 30 years of going here. I have only had one leach on me. That was in 2016.
Its a lake, they all have leaches. Great place to stay for the day and/or camp.
Small fee at the gate to get into the beach.
Cleanest Park I've ever been too. Awesome friendly staff. Lake is great, huge campground. Grounds are immaculate for a state park!!
Has an amazing beach for summer swimming, hiking, exploring, and cooking out! Water is pretty nice and clean and not real mucky on your feet! Got a few trails that have a great lakeside view. Private pull offs with grills to cook on. Hiking trails are easily accessible and not too rough on the feet or body. All in all Hardee lake has much more to offer, especially if you have a boat, but it's a great place for those who don't as well. Highly recommended! Great for the whole family! Two thumbs up 👍👍
Fun, nice, family friendly spot for swimming, camping, fishing, hiking, etc. The water very nice and the lake is beautiful!! (and I almost drowned because the line went out farther then it was supposed to and the sand just dipped down 8 ft lol) But you swim at your own risk so it's acceptional!
