Lovely space with easy access and right by the water. Unfortunately all the sound from the highway echoes down so you'd hear all the trucks at night without ear plugs.
It is a slightly pricier campground, but very well maintained. There are likely better options around.
Two nice sandy beaches and several trails. I went there looking for animal sign and was not disappointed. Found tracks of bobcat, raccoon, bald eagle, porcupine and several smaller rodents. Great horned owl hooting at night. Area clean and well maintained.
I thought that the freeway noise would not be an issue and that maybe other reviewer‘s were putting too much emphasis on that, but upon camping here for two nights it really does take away from the absolutely beautiful location and the very well-kept campsite area. Another issue is there’s no potable water source and I found that kind of interesting especially because each campsite has a well taken care of table and fire pit and tent area. You can get access to the swimming water easily and there’s a little grocery store just over the bridge west where u can get supplies. It is central to the whole eastern Washington area but again that freeway noise really put a damper in the peaceful outdoor camping trip we had imagined.
The campground itself is quite nice. Easy river access and very clean, flat sites, picnic tables. Tip, there are numerous ADA sites that are first come first serve after 6pm if the rest of the campground is full. As many have already said, the only negative is proximity to the hwy. Because it's a pretty steep section of road, you will hear trucks going up and down pretty much at all hours. I had no idea just how loud engine breaking can be.
