Owner is amazing! He's super friendly, accommodating, lives on site, has a small store and loans out books to read. Has propane if you need it. Our site was a full hook up site. Easy pull in sites close to many things. The owner provides a map if the RV park and has local attractions listed on it as well. Family friendly and dog friendly RV park. Would definitely be back and definitely recommend
We had 2 sites for a night. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner, Stuart, who was very kind. The campground and our sites were very clean and quiet. The bathroom facilities were super clean as well. You can tell he goes the extra mile to take care of the place. Check out the Lego’s in the office!
I also agree that it is not right to keep money for no service. They have a NO REFUND policy! NO EXCEPTIONS! Our Truck broke down en route to Elk Bend RV park. I called the day before our scheduled arrival of a 6 night stay. Quickly reminding us of his policy, which I was aware of, Stewart thought he was very generous to offer that if he could rebook our spot, he'd refund 50%. In fact he was sure he could as they had been "filling up every night and you have a long stay! I'll keep a daily record", he said. He never contacted me. So 2 days after our last "scheduled" night, I called to inquire, and to offer proof of our Repair bills to assure him our non arrival was legitimate. He was abrupt, annoyed, and quickly reported he didn't fill our spot at all. Knowing that parks were fully booked from Thursday through Sunday where we had been stranded, I replied that I found that hard to believe. He said, "are you calling me a liar?"...and hung up on me.
I fully understand sacrificing the first night on short notice, but all six nights? Really? How can an RV park manage such complete no refund policies when motels, hotels, and car rentals typically refund up to 24 hour before, and within 24 hours, you lose just the first night? We had to be $$towed home, pay for $$$truck repair, then return to retrieve our trailer from southern Idaho, where we spent the first and last night of our lost, 9-day vacation! In great contrast to Elk Bend, the owners of the campground we reserved for the first two nights of our trip graciously moved our trailer to a parking lot to sit until we could return for it. We paid to pull it into a tuesday vacancy to enjoy one night before returning home. I don't care how nice Elk Bend is supposed to be! Lesson? Never again book at a park with a no refund policy! Take away? We are so grateful for the kindness of many good folks who helped us navigate this mess.
There were a total of 4 RVs overnight. We arrived late but kept quiet and followed the rules. We woke up to the owner cursing us out and blaming us for the state of the washrooms, which we used respectfully and lightly. The owner followed us out of the park to our next location while cursing and giving us lewd gestures. We were worried about leaving our vehicle and were close to calling the police. DO NOT STAY HERE
