Sites are in the Sagebrush areas. The Sagebrush area is closest to the play "Texas." Some sites will hold up to 60-foot RVs.

We stayed at Sagebrush Campground in August. Sagebrush is a nice campground but our favorite is Mesquite for the wide open views and Hackberry for the trees and close proximity to the Givens, Spicer & Lowry Trailhead. Although Sagebrush is close to the Ampitheather for the Texas Musical play during the show season (June-mid Aug). Sagebrush is also close to my other favorite trail the CCC Trailhead about 1 mile up the road from Sagebrush towards the park entrance. From this trail you get a nice view of the Ampitheather, Sagebrush campground and many other sites, so make sure you give it a try.
Sagebrush mostly has backin RV sites. Most are level, asphalt sites but could be rough in places. Each site has a picnic table with a pergola covering. A few have solid tops that will keep the rain off the table if it rains. There is also toilets and showers but we didn't use them. There is no sewer hookup at the sites but you do have water and electricity. There are two pull through sites but one was taken by the park host when we were there. There are also several handicap sites that have more concrete walkways for wheelchairs and are near the restrooms. The camp entrance is one road going in with a loop at the end. There are some nice campsites in the loop area but they seem to be closer together. Look closely on google maps and find the spot you want. As you pull into the campground the sites on the right will be shaded from the afternoon sun. If you stay in Sagebrush during the show season (June-Aug) you'll have a good view of the fireworks and other special effects during the show.
If you plan to go to Palo Duro Canyon I would first pick Mesquite for the wide open views or Hackberry for the tree cover and wildlife but wouldn't hesitate to stay at Sagebrush. And don't forget the CCC Trail hike. It's the best for views.
Great campground. Plenty of room for large and small campers. Sites are level and bathhouse was clean.
Campground and sites were clean. Fabulous views. The intermediate level walking trail is great for seeing wildlife and the canyon walls.
This is our favorite site in the Canyon. It is pretty level and gravel spots help to keep it that way. There is more shade here than the other camps and it is right next to the Sunflower trail. The water pressure is adequate for a state park and the bathrooms are always clean.
Good campground with nice heated showers. Sites are nicely spaced and roomy. Nearby is the snack bar and camp store. Access to many trails too.
