Facilities were very nice. Bathhouses and the pool were in great shape. Location is convenient, and having the general store on site is really handy. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
They have everything they need to be a great family location, but I didn't really enjoy how much pot smoke there was, and listening to our neighbors music really detracted from the experience.
Objectively, it was a good place for camping, just not really our speed.
We had not been to this campground in 10-12 years but we were amazed at what a wonderful job they did to update the grounds. The best part is that they left the camping experience in tact. This is not a campground turned into a mini amusement park, it is a New Hampshire campground that has maintained the beauty of the White Mountains experience.
The facilities were impeccably clean and the staff were exceptional as well.
To all that have been of this update, nice job. Your hard work has paid off.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation experience.
After securing funding for a small, end of the summer camping trip, we decided on Saco River Family Camping. The outdoors of the White Mountains and Saco River were easily accessible from the grounds here.
We did cedar cabin-style camping, and we’re not disappointed. The staff were really nice and readily available around the grounds or in office! The sifting and mining were a unique experience that my daughter loved. The new, colorfully-lighted pool was great!
Had a great four-night stay at Saco River Family Campground! Exceptional staff made the difference, and everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional and results-oriented. We were in one of their "cabin" model trailers (#124), and it was immaculately clean, roomy and in a quiet location. Frankly, it looked new. The bed was VERY comfortable (not an RV bed), bathroom spotless and the water hot.
We have an RV, but did not have it with us. Sites are decently spaced out, and there were rigs of all sizes. All the facilities (pool area, cart / boat rentals, hook up pedestals, etc.) were in tip-top shape, and maintenance staff were visible and active. Office staff very helpful.
Although it is close to everything, this campground felt far from the maddening crowds. Would heartily recommend this campground, and plan to return!
We enjoyed 3 wonderful days at the Saco River Campground when we came to the area for a wedding. The campground was peaceful and serene, the bathrooms were spotless and the staff went above and beyond. We had planned on taking a taxi to our train ride in the center of town, but there were none available. The manager, George, kindly drove us to the train station! Thank you so much. We will definitely be back!
