Situated in the heart of the Manistee National Forest in the charming village of Hesperia, this country style getaway is less than a half hour away from Muskegon and Lake Michigan and less than an hour away from Grand Rapids, this is a great family friendly RV Park and Campground.
While the physical setting of the campground is beautiful, the whole experience was tainted by the poor management of the campground. Gross incompetence bordering on near fraudulent practices. Things such as double booking sites are a common and repeated practice. We don't intend to ever return there due to all of this.
I personally don't have a plot there, but my family does. It is a very nice place, river to fish, and you're allowed to actually play music and have a few drinks past 11. Most places have a curfew and enforce them, River Rock lets you do your thing as long as you're mindful of your neighbors. Highly recommend if you want a weekend trip or a seasonal place to stay.
This is the worst place we’ve stayed. There’s NO bathrooms only out houses. There’s NO office. The sites are VERY SMALL!!! We didn’t even have a picnic table. Playground sucked for the kids. They had more fun playing on the dirt hill. The people next to us had a tent and barely had room to set it up. Definitely NOT worth the $$$. Staying in the woods would have been better!! And their refund policy is ridiculous! NEVER AGAIN!!
I have tried to book a weekend for next July, for 3 months!!
It's for a large group.. 4 of us have tried several times!! We have asked:
Do we have to wait, to book?
Can we speak to someone? NO REPLY!!!. No one answers their phone! Nor their emails!!
I finally asked on their FB page, explaining our circumstances... they replied: 'will follow up'... What.? When?? How can we PLAN to go to this CG if they don't communicate.??
Extreme arrogance!!! They don't need campers for the weekends!! They are all set with their seasonals!!!
If you're trying to PLAN a trip here?... forget it!! They are way too busy to help you out!! And way ABOVE even acknowledging you exist!!! Pathetic!!
