About Campground

Red Barn Campground and Restaurant is a cozy hideaway in the hills of Iowa. People come for the scenery, the fishing and the fun. We welcome seasonals, weekenders and locals alike.

It’s a great place to relax with family, make new friends and just take a break from the day to day. Enjoy solitude walking on nature paths and trout fishing. Join friends around the community fire pit. Let the kids play in the arcade or on the playground. Finish the day at our full service bar and grill.

Families have been coming to Red Barn Campground and Restaurant for generations. Season after season, they return with their RVs, boats and fishing poles. Some guests have been coming to Red Barn since they were kids, and now come with their grandkids. There’s no shortage of campfire stories or fisherman’s tales.

Great spot to put camper in the Driftless Area. Trout stream runs through the campground offering opportunities to fish and creek stomp. Well-maintained bathrooms (showers coin operated). Mini golf was free and passed some time (course is a little rough/uneven). We did not eat at restaurant, only because we packed enough food, but was often busy with patrons. Would recommend and will come back.

We had the best time. Rented 3 campers for mama and all my sisters. We stayed Friday and Saturday night. The campground is beautiful. They have public shower house and public laundry. It is very clean and well lite. Beautiful firepit and lots of outdoor furniture to relaxing in. It was great better then a hotel stay. We only had to bring our food, bedding, towels, clothes and personal items needed. They supply everything else. Even the coffee pot. The inside of the campers are beautiful. The restaurant is awesome as well. Food is great so worth the trip.

We had a late lunch at their restaurant today. I had the fried chicken and mash potatoes with gravy special and my wife had the grilled chicken chefs salad. They were both some of the best I've ever tasted. The cook does some kind of magic with mashed potatoes and gravy. I think a little cream. All made like we love it at home. When I come through Lansing again, I will try some fish. What ever their deep fry batter is it's wonderful for chicken. Salad was super fresh and delicious too.

Campground was perfect for what we needed. Such lovely people and hospitality. Bathrooms and showers included. The restaurant is also a lot of fun. Lots of options without having to drive into town. Thanks for having us!
