Emigrant Landing is the largest day use recreation area on beautiful Pyramid Lake. Located just 90 minutes from Los Angeles, it is the perfect getaway without the long drive. Visitors enjoy all the lake has to offer, from boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. A large sandy swim beach attracts hours of play. Large trees and shelters provide cooling shade. Water in Pyramid Lake takes a long journey from Plumas National Forest and Oroville Dam in northern California. An aqueduct carries the water down through the Tehachapi Mountains to its southern California resting point at Pyramid Lake. Natural Features: The day use area sits on the northern end of Pyramid Lake in the sweeping hills above the Santa Clarita Valley. Pyramid Lake spans 1,300 acres with 21 miles of shoreline. Pyramid Rock, the lakes namesake, is south of the lakes dam in Piru Gorge. Recreation: Visitors come here to picnic and spend hours fishing, boating, water skiing and jet skiing. Anglers seek striped, large, and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie and bluegill. Facilities: An accessible fishing pier, boat ramp, picnic tables and flush toilets are on-site. Drinking water and a soda machine are on hand for refreshment from the hot sun. Nearby Attractions: The Vista Del Lago Visitor Center offers views of Pyramid Lake on its wraparound viewing platform. It also provides a giant map room with intriguing facts about Californias geology and water supply systems.
From Valencia, California, drive 20 miles north on Interstate 5, then take the Smokey Bear exit west. Make a left on Pyramid Lake Road. Continue on Pyramid Lake Road until you reach the entrance kiosk to Emigrant Landing at Pyramid Lake.
We read the reviews beforehand about getting there early to get a boat so we came the day before to scope out the site and boats. I have to say that their "fleet" is pretty worn out and there are only two decent pontoon boats which are the Deluxe ones. The rest are wood seats ,metals seats or ripped cushion seats. The staff was nice and helpful. The store has what you need and the $12 entry fee was reasonable. They are flexible in allowing dogs and swimming which met our needs. We arrived at 6 am and we're the first ones there and were able to secure the best Deluxe pontoon. We were happy with pontoon and the lake. They did confirm they will lock the gates if they reach lake. Capacity with no walk ins so plan to get your group there earlier. The one big thing that needs improvement is that there are no ladders or other options to get back into the pontoon boat if you get out to swim. Even two of our young fit group had a hard time getting in. That would have made the swimming experience so much nicer.
Nicest lake I ever seen in California, well mention /clean, really nice place to spend whole day with family. Picnic table with barbecue grill., different size of boats available for rent with fishing options, only accept credit card for payment/or deposit, $15 parking, staff are friendly and helpful

Lake open year round the best! it's a reservoir always full! spacious. it's a natural social distancing.
The go-to place learn covid hammer dance! 😆 No worries about getting a virus here.🤫 keep it a secret! 🤫 they only allow 150 trailers. Happy Fourth of July everyone! 🎆🎉
Pyramid lake is very serene. You have to pay for parking. It has tons and tons of picnic tables with BBQ options all over the park. It's best for boating and fishing. There is no cellular reception if you go beyond first parking lot, hence plan accordingly in case if you are expecting any urgent calls.
