Barbara and Ted were such great host. The breakfast, which was included, was a four-course fabulous meal ending in a beautiful fresh fruit dessert. The building and grounds upkeep is meticulous. Check it out on their website!
Great breakfasts and we really enjoyed visiting with Ted and Barbara. This was our second experience in a B&B and our first with great hosts. I was hesitant about sharing our vacation with strangers, but my discussions with Ted and his stories about the gunflint area was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
Beautiful cabin, the sauna was amazing! My husband and I spent our 3rd anniversary in Ollie's Cabin over the weekend. It's about 50 minutes from the main city along beautiful, wooded mountain roads (I'm a city girl, so they were mountains, not hills). We enjoyed the seclusion and the accessibility to Grand Marais proper; it was the perfect balance for us. Barbara and Ted were wonderful hosts, they were very friendly and fun to visit with. Swapping stories with them was one of the highlights of the trip for me! I would absolutely go back for another weekend getaway! Even though it was chilly and there was still snow on the ground, we did not lack for things to do, and that fireplace was to die for. 10/10 would recommend ^_^
Barb was a wonderful host and the inn is really great. Big rooms, each with it's own bath. A cozy living area with fireplace on the top floor (where we stayed with kids) and kitchen. Barb gave us lots of great suggestions for where to go to eat, hike, etc.
