Spent 3 nights at a group campsite with a total of 18 people. The group sites are spacious enough for tents and trailers. The lake is conveniently located close to the site and we were able to beach our boat close. The bathrooms are definitely the worst part. The adjoining group site left vomit all over the bathroom that we had to attempt to clean up just to be able to use. The non-stop smell is gag worthy and you have to hope you're not downwind. The host Tammy was great. Will on the other hand made the experience difficult. Was told the first night to be quiet around 8pm while playing games and having dinner. Second night we were harrassed for the way our fire was burning in the provided pit. We were told, although not in the rules, that he just doesn't like it like that. It was mentioned that our group were first responders and we were met with "I don't respect them". Will would also sit outside of our campsite in his golf cart watching from afar. This was a family trip with kids and adults alike trying to enjoy themselves. Other than being constantly monitored, we would consider going back with a different host.
This place is always so nice and clean. We did not stay here but we stay for awhile. The camp host, is the nicest man in the whole. We've seen the lake drop low than usual specially this year. If you are thinking of camping this year or in the next few months, check this place.
Very nice campground, camp hosts Jerry and Tracy were awesome, nice sized sites and good access to a beautiful lake. Butts Lake is very pretty, but is consistently windy late morning so if you're here to kayak get out there early.
Campsite was good the host we met on the first night was nice, the lake and views were gorgeous. The stars at night were amazing. And there was a lot of critters to see at night too including coming across some deer!
The only downside were the restrooms in my opinion. Basically glorified porta potties. There was one that that seemed to be less frequented than others and did not smell, but the one closest to the lake smelled pretty bad. You just need to know where to go.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT HERE.. very clean camp sites hidden away in the mountains. All right on or next to the lake side. The overseeing staff is very friendly. My kids and I just stayed here for 2 nights and it was everything you would expect and more. It is a little pricey but worth it. And there is no cell service but that's the point of camping. Will be going back every chance we get!!..
