About Campground

Flat Rocks Campground is a wooded campground with 19 campsites to accommodate both tents and recreational vehicles up to 30’ in length. No electricity or hooks ups available. Water is available. Because this is the only designated campground allowing off-road vehicles on the road, it tends to fill quickly. The campground is first-come-first-served with no way of determining availability beforehand. Hidden in the Rampart Range, Flat Rocks is an ideal campground for ATV and motorcycle riders in the Rampart Range Recreation Area. ATVs and off-road motorcycles are allowed to enter and depart the campground for trail access. Consult the current Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) for specific roads and trails open to off-road vehicles. There is no dump station, or hook-ups available.

Directions

To reach this area, take U.S. Highway 85 south to Sedalia. Turn west on Highway 67 for 10 miles to the junction with Rampart Range Road. Turn south onto Rampart Range Road for 5 miles. Flat Rocks Campground will be on the west side of the road.

Nice spot! $22 night though. Outhouses, water, and dumpster. Free camping nearby off the main road.

Nice little spot. No water right now so bring plenty. Got plenty of shade at our site thought the day. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. They also give you space which not all hosts do so is highly recommend them. Bathrooms were clean and smelled decent during our entire stay. Only down side of the site is all the dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. If you go in knowing it, you won't be disappointed.

FLAT ROCKS is officially open for the year!! Woo Hoo! The camp host this year is named Colin and he is fantastic. If you decide to stay here tell Colin Jodi said hello!!! He has great stories to tell and he is an amazing person. This campground is first come first serve paid camping area in Rampart Range (Pike National Forest).

22.00 a night and the camp host sells wood for 6.00 a bundle. Two restrooms on-site that are cleaned multiple times a day.

It’s a nice, beautiful and quiet retreat from dispersed camping.

ATV and dirt bikes welcome - be mindful and follow the 5mph in/out as not to disturb others!

Every year this is our go to place for a great time with incredible views and enjoying some R & R.

Hope you visit and enjoy as much as we do!

Campground itself is nice and clean. Vault toilets are spotless and even smell nice somehow. Camp host 2022 is an amazing person named Nell. She cares about the guests. Not to mention a fellow Cornhusker!! 😎 We has site number 18 and it’s tucked back in the corner. Stayed 2 nights. First nice was so quiet and peaceful. Second night may have been the worst night of camping ever in 43 years. Two young kids high as a kite and drunk kept my 7 year old son and I awake til 5am. Got zero sleep. Playing music, laughing yelling. Then their friend showed up at 3:00am and it got worse til they passed out at 5. This is an Atv campground, so just remember that going in. Very noisy, dusty and super congested on the one small road. We chose to leave and not stay the 3rd night due to this. Didn’t feel comfortable having my son riding his bike around. Speed limit is supposedly 5mph which I was surely reminded of when I drove by at 8mph. However atvs and dirt bikes were going well above 5mph through the campground. Rules state riding ATVs is for entry and exit only however all morning people were doing laps around the campground on 4 wheelers. Not very relaxing. If ATVs and dirt bikes are your thing this is the place. If you’re looking for quiet relaxation, I would avoid at all costs. No offense to the camp host who has to deal with this all. She does very well for what this place is. Finally the firewood is $8/bundle. That’s crazy. The same company that provides this, provides the same bundles to Safeway and they’re under $6/bundle. 🤷‍♂️ I know because I bought mine at Safeway.

Great experience. It was my first time at this campsite. Colin was the host and is a great guy! Love his energy! The campsite itself was spread out and have trails everywhere. I personally loved that fact. If you have kids there's plenty of room for them to roam! The amount of trails is so impressive and just gives you freedom to ride!! I will definitely be back every year!! Hope this place is on your list, you will not regret it!
