Dogs are welcome on leash in the campgrounds. They are not allowed at the soaking pools.

Really enjoyed this hike. The views were great and the landscape varied from high desert to shale rock scrambles to river crossings. However, there were some challenges - the road leading to the trailhead is extremely unmaintained with no place to turn around or park at the end, and the trail wasn't clear to follow in some places. Didn't see the mine shaft that others are referring to. Be careful because this out and back trail follows another longer round trip trail for a while and you could get sidetracked on that.
