In Mineral, CA, at intersection of State Rts. 36 and 172, take Rt. 36 west 1.8 miles to campground on left.
Best kept “secret” around! Inexpensive. Shady, spacious sites. SUPER clean (Ladies rooms sanitized 3 times a day), beautiful creek... Fantastic camp host! (Best my family has met in over 50+ years of yearly visits!)
Trout fishing on Battle Creek is rare treat for kids, but they need to do that just before evening sunset and early morning sunrise because the fish are under the concrete bridge and are weary of people. Go there quietly and catch as many as you can quickly, without too much of disturbance on the surface. Overall, this would be your better campsite this summer.
This was great campground! Me and my daughter arrived a couple days before my husband got there and the camp host Jon when out of his way to help anytime we asked which I know wasn'tapart of his job. He was very friendly and joked with everyone there everyday. The campground and bathrooms were will taken care. The Creek is right by the campground which makes for perfect swimming and fishing. I cannot wait to go back!
We usually camp this site every year, but last year not cause covid but this year we did our first trip and the available restrooms are just gross in this heat and there not stalkin fish at the creek or a line. And id like to mention the noise after ten. I understand wanting to have fun but people were rally loud after 10 and camp host could have cared less! Nice folks but only come around a couple times a day.. maybe next trip will be better...
Some highway noise. Toilets are closed but Johnny on the spots available. 11 minutes from the national park.
