Great view of the water, has many things to do ...great playground, putt putt golf, battering cage, fishing...splash pad...
We enjoyed the toddler area in this park. Especially loved that it was gated. It was our first time this year and saw that they had mini golf area. There's also a big lake and a park for bigger kids. Will come again.
Campground is not $12 as reflected on city website.
We drove out of our way to stay at this city park, we just needed a night of rest as we were passing through. At $12 it seemed like it was going to be worth it.
It's a very nice park and even on a midweek summer evening there were a lot of people out walking, fishing, lining up at the concession. Gravel road interior, 8 grass sites, all level. Picnic tables, WE, looks like dump by bath house but we didn’t use it. Very quiet, lots of birds. There was not obvious way to make a payment and we called the number posted to no way to leave a message.
Around 9p a guy pulled up - hard to believe he would be associated with the city in any way based on the vehicle, his personal hygiene, dress, etc. - and asked for the $20 camp fee. When I asked about the $12 listed on the website, "oh yeah that went up - you know gas prices and stuff." There's no way we were going to give him cash, so we wrote a check.
Later when I tried to call someone at the city park website to at least give someone a heads up about updating their website....of course it's impossible to get a live human being. The park itself is nice, but we wouldn't stay here again.
