Awesome place of history! But it’s definitely hard to climb and hike in the flow itself! Be safe when doing it!

As a young boy I played up in the lava caves during the summer it was cool with frozen ice floors. The only problem was the pumice rock would tear up my boots and clothing up from all the sharp edges. There are many fond memories of playing up there with friends and family, having outings and eating many lunches up there.
