This primitive campground is located on the north shore of Smith Reservoir and is accessed by boat only. This site is popular with people looking for a remote, off the beaten path camping experience. Basic facilities such as tables, vault toilets and fire pits are provided. There is no potable water (drinking water). Garbage service is not provided so please keep a pack-in pack-out camp and follow Leave No Trace guidelines.
BOAT ACCESS ONLY. From McKenzie Bridge, OR, travel east on Highway 126 to Forest Road 732. Follow Forest Road 732 around Trailbridge Reservoir to Forest Road 730. Continue up Forest Road 730 for 2 miles to Smith Reservoir and locate the boat launch on the eastern shore. Travel by boat 1.8 miles north across the lake to Lakes End Campground.
This camp ground is closed until 2021 for Carmen-Smith Hydroelectric Facility Maintenance.
Boat in only campground. We canoed in. Supposedly there are 17 sites, but they are tucked in from the shore around the far end of the lake. We had the place to ourselves.
