The reservoir and surrounding wetland is about 40 acres and supports a rich diversity of wildlife, fish, and plant species. This recreation site is popular for activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, and scenic driving. Just an update - We drove there on 7/12 expecting to stay and the gate was closed. Nothing posted as to why, not sure if it changed after we left.

Nice lake and good camp sites. Way to many homeless living there permanently. Garbage is everywhere. Would not recommend.

Beautiful place. Let's all be hush-hush about it, though. Wouldn't want too many people there, or the free camping to change.

This is a perfect spot only about 20 miles out of town to go camping, fishing and hiking. No pay camp areas are an added bonus. Plus Hortons Store is just a little ways down the road with lots of things you may have forgotten and the Lady that runs it is super nice.
