About Campground

This quiet, 19 site, family-friendly camp is located in a lush, mature Douglas-fir/vine maple/sword fern forest alongside the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette Wild and Scenic River. The campground sits off Forest Service Road 19 (also known as the Aufderheide Drive), which is a portion of the 220-mile long West Cascades Scenic Byway. Popular recreational activities in this area include driving the West Cascades Scenic Byway, fishing, and road cycling Aufderheide Drive. Nearby, the North Fork Trail is popular for hiking and mountain cycling. Please note that special fishing regulations apply to the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette River. Please consult the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for the most up-to-date information.

Directions

25 miles northeast of Oakridge, Oregon, along the North Fork of the Middle Fork Wild and Scenic River. From the intersection of Crestview Street and Oregon State Highway 58 in Oakridge, Oregon (the only traffic light along Highway 58 in Oakridge), travel west on State Highway 58 for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto the Westfir-Oakridge Road and follow for 1.3 miles.  At the junction with the Westfir Road (which crosses a steel truss bridge on your left) continue to the right and drive to the center of the former logging town of Westfir.  At the four-way intersection, continue straight onto Forest Road 19/Aufderheide Drive. Continue approximately 20 miles, and the destination will be on your left.

Slow drive up. Lots of big "bumps" on the road. Beautiful, rustic campground but not "solar power" friendly. Lots of large fir trees so heavily shaded. Loved it.

Great campground, most spaces are right on the water and no noise from the highway can be heard. The campground host is always very nice and area is kept clean. There is a 'beach' area you can walk to for water access. It is a fairly popular place so be sure to get there early on busy weekends!

Beautiful little campground tucked up next to the north fork a ways out into the national forest. It's about an hour long drive to the closest store makes it a less popular place so its usually pretty quiet tranquil.
