Nice lake. Very clean. Great fishing spot. Cabin’s are within walking distance to the lake. Has a store close by as well. A must if you love going to the lake.
Why am I always so disappointed by camping in Oklahoma? I am so ready to like this state, with its history and cultural diversity. But every time I camp in OK it's tiresome, hot, shadeless, incredibly crowded, noisy, unpoliced. Fort Supply Park is a prime example. For Carl Blackwell Park, I would add grave concerns about park safety in terms of the current pandemic. The Scissortail Lane campground is not safe at all for Covid 19 prevention. The sites are cheek by jowl. The site next to me had 12 people with four vehicles not including a large 5th wheel. They piled their hammocks etc with 5 feet of my door. No law enforcement to maintain social distancing or even ordinary park rules. I couldn't leave soon enough. There were multiple campsites like this. Just overrun by very large and loud groups. I couldn't leave soon enough.
Beautiful Oklahoma lake experience with the charm of a student town. Go Pokes! There's lot to do including Kayaking, boating, camping, trailer park etc.
I LOVE this lake. Large, but not too large for kayaking. People were friendly, police and park ranger were out and visible. The water was cool and perfect for swimming. There are swim beaches.
