Treat the family to memorable camping on California's Central Coast at Sun Outdoors Santa Barbara, formerly Ocean Mesa RV Resort. Our fantastic resort is situated in Santa Barbara, where the Pacific Ocean and Ynez Mountains offer a spectacular setting and stunning backdrop for activities and adventure.
Choose your experience with a selection of spacious RV and tent sites. Enjoy fun amenities like a heated swimming pool and our amazing market that features camping gear, souvenirs, local wine, craft beer, and beach gear. Gather for seasonal outdoor movie nights on the market lawn. Or explore trails on docent-led hikes, take the kids to our llama and goat farm, and check out the events hosted at the El Capitan Canyon Market, located at El Capitan Canyon, our sister resort.
This is a hidden gem 💎! I almost don't want to review it to keep the traffic down! Lol 😅 very quiet, clean, well maintained and beautiful!! You can walk to the beach ⛱️, hike the mountains or just sit back and enjoy the serenity of the resort. It even has a pool!!!
As per other reviews, the sites are tight and you will have to do some maneuvering to get a big rig in. Note that a lot of sites have slopes in and out of the sites which make it difficult for low clearance RVs and 5th wheels. My biggest complaint is the micro tiny ants which WILL visit you in your RV. We still have them inside after checking out several days ago. They need to spray to keep these under control.
The location of the resort is good and close to El Capitan State Park/Beach.
We stayed at sun outdoors for 1 night while we were in transit to San Diego. We booked same day which was no issue at all. The lady on the phone was very helpful and check in process was fast and easy. Our only complaint was the spaces were very tight. We are full time RVers and we have definitely seen some tight sites but I think this was the tightest we had to fit our RV and our pickup into. It wasn't that big of an issue since we were staying one night but for longer stays I could see it being a little difficult. The park is about 15 minutes to Santa Barbara and easily accessible for the highway. Overall it was a decent stay.
Cleanest “camping bathrooms “ I’ve had the pleasure of using….
Take a hike up the mountain and look out at the beautifulness of the ocean.
Could never go wrong w a clean pool and inviting hot tub!
Been here twice and can’t wait to go back
