Love Northern Acres. Our home away from home. Also all my family love it here too.
This resort is awesome for the family. We have been coming for over ten years! Dave is awesome and it's very clean year after year.
We stayed in one of the three bedroom cabins. The building was quirky but clearly maintained. The kitchen was well stocked on pots/plates/mugs, but a few gadgets that are "standard" to me were missing. The hot water heater could handle three or four showers at a time; we didn't have call to run more than that in a row. There was a new ceiling fan in the same room as the AC unit and a box fan was provided. Obviously, it's a "cabin," so it's not spacious for rainy days, but it's comfy for sleeping or as a launch pad for local adventures.
We had three main quibbles. The docking space was rather limited, which was worsened by Minnesota's 2021 drought. The WiFi wasn't reliable. Don't bother with a laptop, because you'll likely end up standing somewhere outside that's closer to the router amplifier with your cell phone! Finally, the water was just fine for showering, cooking, and coffee, but we definitely needed to bring drinking water with us.
