From I-85 (exit 111): Go 5-1/2 mi NW on US 311, then 1-3/4 mi E on Hwy 68, then 1-1/4 mi N on Centennial St, then 1/8 mi E on Oakview Rd.
Great place. I parked my travel trailer for about 1 week. Low water pressure and need to bring your own splitter as water is shared between 2 RV pads. Playground for kids, fishing, pool (was closed during my visit). Laundry machines had cashless option but they were stored outdoors in cover but with no cover from weather for the person. Bathrooms could definitely be cleaner as well.
We needed a moderately cost site to park for two nights. We called Oak Hollow and found there location and year round availability inside a secure, locked location was perfect for us.we were able to come and go day or night and feel secure while we were in neary Winston Salem. Great team, Great rates.
I recently had my inaugural tent camping experience at Oak Hollow Campground and it was a memorable one! As a first-timer who packed, planned, and set up everything myself, I appreciated the campground's convenient location—close enough to home, yet still a peaceful escape.
The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making the experience smooth from start to finish. The vistas here are gorgeous, particularly the waterfront view, which was a highlight of my trip.
I stayed at tent site #10, which comes equipped with electricity—a lifesaver in the morning when I was able to use my electric kettle to heat water for oatmeal and a portable shower. The tent platforms at Oak Hollow make setting up a breeze, and mine was no exception; it was spacious and level.
However, it wasn't all roses. My major complaint would be the noise—both from the nearby highway and adjacent campers. If you're a light sleeper like me, this could be a real drawback. I had high hopes for tranquil nights under the stars, but the incessant noise disrupted my sleep quite a bit.
Additionally, while I loved the grill feature at my site for cooking dinner, the absence of a fire pit was a small letdown.
Despite these hiccups, I do plan on returning, especially during the less busy time during the week in the fall season. Next time, I’ll be armed with earplugs to counter the ambient noise. If you're considering a stay here, Oak Hollow Campground has a lot to offer; just be prepared for the noise factor.
The highway isn't far but I was not bothered by traffic noise. Very nice and helpful staff. You do have to arrive by 7:30pm, but other than that I had only planned one night here but liked it so much that I stayed another night. Pool, vending, bathrooms/showrs, washer/dryer. Thanks for the pleasant stay!
