A stunning drive. The colors were "popping" the day I went. It really does look like the rocks are painted.
Painted rocks is an on the beaten path state park with multiple campsites and multiple camping spots within every campsite. During the month of september on october, it is a mud haven for those adventurous enough to play in mud. Of course, during the earlier months of the year, it is a wonderfully beautiful Lake and wonderful atmosphere. The areas nearby include hot springs, resorts, and different places to play with tons of boat ramps. Is the fishing is wonderful in the atmosphere is always great. The camp spots are always clean. There's multiple bathroom locations. The campfires Is and surrounding areas are always clean.
I didn't get to enjoy the beautifully painted rocks! There was too much snow and ice. But it was just as stunning as I anticipated it would be that day!
This place is an absolute photographer's dream!
Really interesting to visit late in the year. You can see to bottom of the lake and walk on it. Very unique. Lots of camping space avaiable.
